Kajimeiku will continue to embrace new challenges across generations, forging the path to the future.
Thoughts from the Founding
Kajimeiku began with the production of Japanese umbrellas, which my grandfather was involved in.
In the old days in Takaoka, umbrellas coated with astringent persimmon were dried in the rice paddies, and I still vividly remember this.
In this area, it was so common to live with rain and snow that there is a saying, “Don't forget your umbrella even if you forget your lunch box. This naturally led to a business related to rain.
After the war, we turned our attention to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), gathering information from various sources to begin manufacturing rainwear. Before and after I took over the business, there were some very difficult times, but I believe that Kajimeiku is what it is today because we have always tried to do “something new” in response to the times.
I also feel that the greatest support has come from our business partners, suppliers, and employees. Last year, we became a member of the Maruori Group, which has increased our possibilities.
The starting point of Kajimeiku is the accumulation of challenges. And we will keep on embracing new challenges as we move forward.
